Brazil, March 2010 -- Iguazu Falls

Arriving at Iguazu Falls.....

...we could see the winding Iguazu River
and beautiful cropland from the airplane

The moment we got our rental cars we headed
out for a drive in the countryside!

...so many cornfields!!
Looked a lot like Iowa!
....we stayed out until the sun set
and we could no longer see anything!

Next to Argentina for supper!!
Mother is working on that huge
piece of steak served to her!

Iguazu Falls....spectacular!!!

Hmmm....shall we go to Paraguay or Argentina??

Sun setting on Brazil as we cross the
Iguazu River on our way to Argentina for supper
Our second supper in Argentina... no steak this time!

Tour of Itaupi Lake and Dam -- nice hard hat, Conrad!

The "engineers"

Row of penstocks along back of dam
...feeds water to the turbines

So many hard hats!!

Right foot in Brazil, left foot in Paraguay!
Generator Hall -- massive open space inside the dam!
There are 20 generators below this floor!
